To add traps or not in tactics game


Posting here to ask a question that's been floating in my mind recently. I've been a bit curious when playtesting if I should have added area traps/effects? Are people who like fire emblem like gameplay a fan of that? Currently we just have obstacles and different starting locations for the Capsule Monsters. I feel like I never really used area affects? And traps could prove to just be more annoying? How about moving platforms...?
